Video Calls - the new platform

We have upgraded our platform. That is why some features might be different than what you were used to. In this series of articles we will discuss the most important changes per topic. This article is about video calls.

This is how it worked before

You would click on the video call icon to schedule an appointment. These appointments would appear in a list on the page. When you had scheduled an appointment you could not change the time and date of it anymore.
A link for the video call would be created immediately. This link would not expire and could be used multiple times.

This is how it works now

You can now schedule an appointment directly from the dashboard. On the dashboard you will see the appointments you have scheduled in the next 12 hours. To see your appointments that are scheduled on a future date you can visit the video call portal via the "Go to all my video call appointments" button.

After you have scheduled a  video call, the person you have invited will receive an invitation email with a link to the call. This link will remain valid for one hour. When you have scheduled an appointment that takes more than an hour, the link will remain valid until the end time you have set. so if you schedule an appointment from 12PM until 12.15PM for example, the link will remain valid until 1PM. When you schedule an appointment from 12PM until 1.30PM  the link will remain valid until 1.30PM.
This means that you can no longer use the same link multiple times. A new video call link will be created for every appointment.

Changing an appointment

On the new platform it is now possible to make changes to your scheduled video call appointments. You can do this from the video call portal. You get there by clicking on "Go to all my video call appointments". When you change something for an appointment your invitee will automatically receive a new invitation link.
